Nickel laterites benefaction by the systematic sorting and elimination of gangue materials
R&D Initiative Summary
Laterite ores are extremely variable from deposit to deposit, and all have complex mineralogy. Attempts to upgrade many of these ores via physical beneficiation have usually been unsuccessful.
Our team has identified an opportunity to exploit the variations in mineral characteristics, their distribution across the various size factions, and the processing response of particular streams to optimise the treatment of laterite ores.
This project needs a specific target deposit that could be economically transformed if this approach is successful.
Initial budget has been established but the resulting technologie being very ore specific, we are having discussions and looking for partners with laterite projects that are difficult in order to pursuit further this R&D initiative.
